With the festive season fast approaching, Berea police appeal to the public to be more vigilant and aware of crime and criminals lurking in the areas looking for an opportunity or victim.
Berea police communications officer, Lieutenant PN Naidoo said people must look after their valuables whilst shopping and avoid using isolated ATMS when withdrawing cash.
“Make sure alarm systems are on when locking up cars and homes. Keep outside lights on at night. If possible install CCTV on the premises so that it can be a deterrent to criminals,” he added.
Naidoo said motorists needed to be more cautious and safe when on the road and never drink and drive.
