Christmas thanksgiving service for Berea police

The Combined Churches on the Berea prayer group held their annual Christmas Thanksgiving Service last Thursday.

BEREA police enjoyed a special Christmas prayer day thanksgiving service ahead of their busy festive season last week.

The special service is organised by the Combined Churches on the Berea, who started the Adopt-a-Cop Prayer Group more than twenty years ago.

Louise Molyneaux, chair of the prayer group explained that the group was a praying ministry that got together from 2pm to 4pm on the first Wednesday of every month at St Olav's Church. “We pray for police members working at Berea SAPS. We hold our police members up in prayer for protection and the issues that affect police. We have had amazing prayers answered. Many are very quick to criticise our police without realising the difficulties they face daily,” she said.

Lieutenant PN Naidoo, Communications Officer at Berea SAPS thanked prayer group and police Chaplin Rajan Govender, Bishop Lazarus Govindsamy as well as the music team who also created a blessed and festive spirit for the police at the station.
