Holiday adventure in Durban

There's plenty of family fun events to take part in in Durban this festive season.

DURBAN's Green Corridor has a host of fun activities for family and friends over the holidays.

You can explore the beautiful uMngeni River Valley on foot, by bike, by canoe or on a picnic blanket at the edge of the river or dam.

Participate in a range of exciting activities including canoeing, hiking, mountain biking, nature walks and take in some of the most unbelievable picnic spots where you can sit and relax while the kids are entertained.

The uMngeni River Valley is without a doubt Durban's hidden gem. Explore cliffs, caves, waterfalls, gorges, dams, valleys as well as the abundant birdlife. Immerse yourself in nature just a short distance from Durban. From Blue Lagoon to Inanda Dam and the Valley of a Thousand Hills, you are sure to be mesmerized. The valley also offers some of the most picturesque picnic spots in Durban where you can pre-order a picnic for the family or bring your own. Your children can be entertained by a guided adventure while you relax by the dam or river with a book.

Holiday specials include a half day adventure at Blue Lagoon, which includes hiking, mountain biking and canoeing, for R160 a person.

Enjoy jazz, hip hop, poetry and reggae at the music festival events at Wushwini Arts Centre, overlooking the Inanda Dam from 6 to 28 December.
