Festive joy for little ones
Blind and partially sighted children at Baumann House were treated to a Christmas party on Friday.
CHILDREN at Baumann House, a development centre which caters for blind and partially sighted children from six months to six years, were treated to a Christmas party on Friday.
This school is situated behind the KwaZulu-Natal Society for the Blind in Umbilo Road. Each child is involved in an individually prescribed programme of therapy and play, aimed at stimulating all aspects of developments. There are 10 children in the centre ranging from three years to six years.
The society had a wonderful response from the community for donations and the children were really spoilt at this year's party. More than R12000 has also been raised for the school and this included a donation of a trampoline and umbrella for their pool.
Local companies who donated to this worthy cause were Paccon Logistics, Protea Truck, Africost, Pitchline Engineering, Highway Interiors, Freightmax, McAllistairs Catering, Elangeni Hotel, Even Flow Resources, Future Packaging, SA Inland Logistics and the staff at First Technologies, who raised more than R3000.
