Women severely injured in crash

A woman was severely injured after being thrown out of her vehicle after a crash on Monday.

A woman sustained serious injuries after a head on collision on the corner of Currie Road and Mansfield Road on Monday morning.

Garrieth Jamieson, operations director at Rescue Care said paramedics arrived to find two vehicles had collided head on and a woman had been ejected from the vehicle. “She was found to have sustained serious injuries and Advanced Life Support intervention was needed to stabilize her on the scene,” explained Jamieson.

Once the woman was stabilized she was placed on a specialized spinal board before being transported to a nearby hospital. “The other driver had left the scene before paramedics arrival. At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further,” added Jamieson.
