Well-behaved Matt earns a silver award

Rescue dog, Matt, has been transformed by love, training and discipline.

LESLIE Hart had no idea her rescue dog, Matt, would change from being a ‘biter’ to a ‘lover’, but Matt has been full of surprises.

Matt is a cross Belgian Shepherd and Border Collie, Leslie has owned for the past year.

“We got Matt as a rescue dog, he was a ‘biter’ and had a total lack of control, which is unusual for the breed. We decided to take him for dog training, and he has been transformed!” said Leslie.

Matt started training with Grant Smith from the Smart Dog Canine Training Centre, and recently took part in the Canine Good Citizen Test at the Natal German Shepherd Dog Club.

“We were very proud of him as he got his silver at the Canine Good Citizen test. We will continue with training and he will be doing character building, beginner’s agility and going for his gold in the Canine Good Citizen test next,” said Leslie.
