Men charged for car-jacking
Two armed men were arrested for car-jacking in Noble Road on Sunday.

UMBILO SAPS officers arrested two men for car-jacking in Glenwood on 4 January.
At around 11pm, Constable Mzulwini and his crew were patrolling along Noble Road when they heard a gunshot and a man screaming for help. They went to investigate and as they approached the scene they saw two men running. They gave chase and caught them.
One man was searched and an okapi knife was found in his possession. The other man was found with a firearm. The two suspects were taken to Umbilo police station for questioning.
While questioning the men, a man walked into the charge office to report that he had just been hijacked, and pointed out the men as those who had hijacked him.
He told the police that while he was parked in Noble Road with his girlfriend inside his car, one of the men approached him at gun point. He demanded that he jump into the back seat, which he did, and the woman jumped out the vehicle.
The men forced the driver to sit on the floor behind the seats, however he fought them, grabbing the firearm, which discharged and one shot hit the roof of the vehicle. Nobody was injured. The men ran off and the driver screamed for help.
The firearm and knife used to commit the crime were handed in as well as the vehicle, a silver grey Toyota Yaris.
The hijackers’ getaway vehicle, a gold Toyota Corolla, was handed in for further investigation.
The case of car-jacking is under investigation. The two men were arrested and charged.
