Residents enjoy water leak

GLENWOOD residents saw the positive side to a water leak in the area on Monday night, and used the spray of water to cool down after a sweltering hot day.

According to resident, Beverley Cooke-Tonnesen, this was one of the most joyous experiences of her life.

“Driving home after boot camp I was grumbling in my head about more load shedding when I saw a huge spout of water shooting up out of the pavement. 'Great – more Durban Corporation glory,' I grumbled to myself, and then I saw the people playing!” she said.

Beverley parked her car and joined in the fun, getting wet with a smile on her face.

Children and adults alike took to playing in the spray until the municipality arrived to fix the leak.
