Man injured in smash

A MAN was seriously injured in a taxi accident along Sphiwe Zuma (Queen Mary) Avenue in Durban at 7am on Tuesday.

According to Chris Botha from Netcare 911, reports from the scene indicated that the taxi smashed into the rear of a stationary truck.

“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived and found the crumpled remains of the taxi and the truck obstructing the roadway and causing a severe traffic build up. The passenger side of the taxi was severely crumpled. A man who was inside the taxi sustained serious injuries,” said Botha.

After paramedics stabilised the man at the scene the was taken to hospital.

“Exact details as to the cause of the accident however will remain a subject for police investigation,” said Botha.
