Woman dies in Brickhill Road collision

A woman was killed when a convertible veered off the road and smashed through a school field fence.

A WOMAN was killed in an accident in Brickhill Road in Durban in the early hours of this morning (29 May).

Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said: “A report from the scene indicates that two vehicles collided, a convertible with three people then veered off the road, smashed through a palisade fence and rolled, its twisted remains coming to rest on the George Campbell school field.”

He said paramedics arrived at the scene and found the occupants had been ejected from the vehicle.

“After triaging the injured it was found that a woman had sustained life threatening injuries while two others was seriously injured. Medics worked fervently to resuscitate the critically wounded patient, tragically despite their effort she was declared dead at the scene” said Botha.

After paramedics treated the injured at the scene they were transported to various hospitals for further care.
