Man injured by falling rubble
A pedestrian walking along Victoria Embankment was badly injured by rubble falling from a building.
A MAN is in a critical condition after building rubble fell on him from the tenth storey of a building on the Victoria Embankment on Wednesday afternoon at around 3.47pm.
According to Netcare 911’s Chris Botha, reports from the scene indicate that the man, in his twenties, was walking along the pavement when the rubble fell on him. “Netcare 911 paramedics found the man lying on the ground with life threatening injuries. After medics immobilised him and then transported him to hospital under the constant care of an advanced life support paramedic,” said Botha.
Botha said exact details of what caused the building rubble to fall is still a matter for investigation.
