Morningside’s Reshe eyes coveted crown

Morningside wife and mum, Reshe Pretorius, is vying for the Mrs India South Africa title.

LOCAL beauty, Reshe Pretorius, has been selected as one of the top 10 finalists for the Mrs India South Africa national pageant, which will culminate in an event at Sibaya's iZulu Theatre on 15 August.

Reshe, who is representing the Morningside, Berea and Overport area, said she was very excited and was receiving amazing support from her friends and family.

“I have entered this competition to prove that married women with childen do not just have to be housebound without any challenges. My goal in life is to participate in many hobbies such as bellydancing, ice-skating, going to the gym for a healthy body, passion for Latin and Ballroom dancing, and fundraising and women empowerment,” she said.

Reshe said she had very special people in her life, including her husband, who always stood by her, and her two beautiful children, her 12-year-old daughter, Cherzan, and her 10-year-old son, Enrique.

“My day is time-consuming and has to be planned well, so that I find a happy balance of time for my role as a mother and wife combined with all my hobbies.

My advice to all married women is not to discard your individuality and always remember that age is just a number. My belief is that religion is not just practiced on particular days but how you live your life and treat everyone around you on a day to day, minute to minute basis. There are many women who, after marriage, lose their identity and zest for life. I believe it should never be that way, they should remain positive with challenges and goals so that they can live a happy, fulfilled life,” said Reshe.

Reshe's motto to live by is that in achieving goals in life, it will always give you more and more confidence.

“My wish is to always be a fun-loving and bubbly person and just enjoy my life to the fullest,” she said.
