Donation makes a difference
CANSA honoured its survivors on International Survivor's Day on Friday.
CANCER survivors were honoured at the Cancer Association of South Africa's (CANSA) annual International Survivor's Day celebration and Cuppa launch on Friday.
The day was one of formalities and fun, with talks by CANSA representatives and those from Shoprite and Checkers, which were followed by massages for those present and a fun photo booth for memories of the day to be captured.
At the event, it was revealed that almost R3.2 million was raised last year for the Cuppa campaign, and almost R1 million was donated by Shoprite Checkers.
This year a special donation of R18 500 was handed over to Mkhuhla House.
Lisa Strydom from CANSA spoke about where funds were being distributed to in KZN, and mentioned education and prevention programmes run by CANSA, screening and early detection programmes and care and support initiatives run by CANSA.
