Help HOLAH this Mandela Day

HOLAH, the House of Love and Hope in Glenmore, is commemorating Nelson Mandela Day this week and is encouraging people to visit the home and spend 67 minutes with the babies , from Tuesday to Saturday.

Tying in with Mandela Day, the founders are hoping to get donations of 67 boxes of formula to put together 67 hampers for needy moms in the area, or cash donations to go towards items for hampers.

“We are encouraging the community to help us with two projects,” said Leanne Lorrance.

The first project is BOP, or Bowl or Plenty, where Leanne and co-founder, Kim Brown, are putting together hampers of non-perishable items which they will take to local underprivileged areas.

“We are encouraging people to help us with donations, or for people to do collections for us. We are looking for items such as rice, samp, pasta, sugar, coffee, tea and canned food, any non-perishable food items, for these hampers,” said Leanne.

The women are also collecting items to put together baby hampers for new moms. If residents can add a few more things to their shopping trolley, it would be appreciated.

Items such as Infracare formula – 1 and 2, nappies of all sizes, toiletries, wet wipes, nappy sacks, baby vests, baby grows, bibs, pyjamas from new born to 18 months, toilet rolls and tissues are needed.
