Will you perform with Pharrell?

One lucky school singing group can win the chance to perform on stage with superstar, Pharrell Williams.

THIS September, one school singing group in South Africa is going to get the opportunity of a lifetime to perform live, on stage, with Pharrell Williams.

Woolworths, in collaboration with Pharrell Williams, will be hosting a first of its kind private concert for its WReward customers and one singing group will get the chance to appear on stage with Pharrell and win a cash prizes of R100 000.

To take part, school singing groups are invited to submit audition videos of the group performing a song of inspiration before 31 July.

The top 10 finalists will be chosen by an independent panel after which the final selection of the top three will be made by Pharrell Williams himself.

To enter schools have to put together a singing group (it does not have to be an official choir) of between five and 20 learners, aged between eight and 18.
They should film the group performing a song of their choice, load the song on YouTube and send their full entry (along with all their details) to singwithus@woolworths.co.za.
Schools must view the full competition rules online at www.woolworths.co.za/areyouwithus (under the Sing With Us section).

Last year Riebeeck College Girls’ High School from Uitenhage, Eastern Cape took the R100 000 grand prize with their rendition of Asimbonanga, and were lucky to perform in the Woolworths’ tribute video with Johnny Clegg. Second place went to Walmer High School’s Masifunde Youth Choir from Eastern Cape. They were closely followed by third place winners Curro Hillcrest Christian Academy from KwaZulu-Natal.
