Fire guts electronics shop
Firefighters worked for hours to extinguish the flames at an electronics shop in Lennox Road.
DURBAN firefighters had their hands full last Wednesday when they battled two fires in the Durban area.
On Wednesday afternoon, firefighters worked to put out a grass and bush fire at the Durban Country Club golf course, which was suspected to have been started by vagrants.
Another fire broke out at an electronics shop in Lennox Road, Stamford Hill, which, according to a witness, Justin Furner, started at around 8.45pm.
The strength of the fire was so fierce that three fire engines and a hydraulic platform were used to douse it, and according to Furner, the fire was finally put out at around midnight.
