Join in on radiothon

CHILD Welfare Durban and District in conjunction with Radio Hindvani will host a Radiothon on Saturday, 12 December from 10am to 4pm at CWDD Stormhaven Offices, 20 Clarence Road, Morningside.

Radio Hindvani will be broadcasting live at Stormhaven, and the public is invited to go alon and make a pledge and mingle with their favourite radio show hosts.

“This is a fundraising initiative to cover the grocery bill for our four child and youth care centres, which is one of our highest expenditures every month. We are urging the community to call in and pledge or come to Child Welfare on the day,” said Irene Okoye from Child Welfare.

There will be a mini information desk at the premises in Clarence Road on the day and local magician and brand ambassador, Mo Magic, will be there to surprise guests with some magic.

“Come meet and greet Mo and have photos taken with him. There will also be a jumble sale at the premises, as well as lots of food for sale,” said Irene.

Mo Magic said he was thrilled to be a part of the initiative and was excited to be the brand ambassador for Child Welfare.

“I have been wanting to dedicate time to one particular cause and am looking forward to channeling energy into this amazing organisation which does incredible work for the youth in the city. With magic, I try to create moments to bring out the inner child in people, but magic is an illusionary and art form, but the magic that Child Welfare does is the real thing!”

He urged the community to make the time to contribute on 12 December, by calling or visiting, as the money would be going directly to the children.
