One of Durban’s favourite literary gatherings is back. It is an opportunity to meet 70 favourite authors, discover new voices, and celebrate the power of stories.

The inaugural edition in May was the talk of the town, drawing more than 500 patrons, during which several books were launched.

The 2026 fair will take place as follows:
Thursday, September 24 – Umbilo Library, Bulwer Park, and Mazisi Kunene Museum, 10:00-16:00; Friday September 25 – KZNSA Gallery, 10:00-14:00, Friday September 25 – Phansi Museum – 14:00-17:00, Saturday and Sunday September 26 and 27 – 09: 00-17:00.

Authors include Vasantha Angamuthu, Kirsten Miller, Mathabo Kunene, Kiru Naidoo, Nivashni Nair Sukdhev, Sindiswa Zulu, Usiba Wrters’ Guild, and more.

The Glenwood Book Fair is a not-for-profit community event organised by MyGlenwood and the Durban Book Club. It is designed to celebrate Durban as a Unesco City of Literature, drive a culture of writing and reading in Durban and promote writing and publishing (especially in indigenous languages).
