DURBAN North resident and well-known entertainer, Colin Penn has joined forces with Dr Ian Player/Ntombeli Foundation with a fun project aimed at children that hopes to raise much-needed funds to save the rhino from extinction.
A colorful, fun new book, Welcome to Rhino-Land takes children on an exciting adventure through Rhino-Land which is set in the Kruger National Park. Here they meet a host of fun characters who through the story teach children about what goes on in Rhino Land and what the various characters get up to. The book is lighthearted, beautifully illustrated and educational.
“Our aim is to raise funds by selling the book through primary schools to pupils. We’ve tried to make it as simple as possible for schools who wont have to collect money or issue receipts. All schools need to do is send out in their normal newsletters information about our Welcome to Rhino-Land fundraiser and how they can order and purchase the book. Once we have been notified by the bank, we will deliver the books to the school with a list of names of the children who can collect their copies,” said Penn. The school will also receive R5 for every copy that is ordered through the school,” he said.
Any schools interested in supporting this initiative to help save the rhino can contact Colin Penn at therhinofamily@mwebh.co.za
