Baby J needs your help

HOLAH is asking people to help cover the costs of a specialised formula for one of its babies.

HOLAH (House of Love and Hope) in Glenmore is appealing to the community to donate money to buy tins of formula for one of its babies.

Baby J, who is four months old, had only gained 1kg since birth and hasn't been able to tolerate formula.

“We did a big breastmilk drive and he was doing so well and tolerating it amazingly, however during the last few weeks, he developed an intolerance for breastmilk and was constantly sick and niggly,” said Leanne Lorrance from HOLAH.

She said a paediatric gastroenterologist agreed to see him and has put baby J on a specialised formula.

“He is now a different baby. He is managing to drink over 670ml and is keeping it all down. Before he started on the formula he weighed 3.7kg, and this week at weigh-in he weighs 4.2kg! A nice steady increase. We hope that he continues to thrive on this formula,” she said.

Leanne said the formula was quite expensive, and HOLAH is appealing to the community to help contribute to the purchase of the formula.
