Floating book shop comes to town

Logos Hope, the largest floating book fair in the world, will soon visit Durban for the first time.

BOOKLOVERS are encouraged to visit the MV Logos Hope when it docks in Durban from 17 March to 3 April.

The Logos Hope is operated by Good Books for All, a German-based NPO, with the ship hosting an international book fair and youth service project. The crew and staff of around 400 young people from over 60 different countries all serve as volunteers who donate their time, talent and energy without receiving any form of financial remuneration.

Since 1970, the ships have made over 1 470 port visits in more than 150 countries and territories, where the ship provides valued educational literature and humanitarian aid in situations of need. The ships have welcomed more than 45 million visitors on board the floating book shop.

The ship will dock at 2pm on 17 March at N-Shed Passenger Terminal. Opening hours are Sunday, Monday and Friday from 2pm to 9.30pm and Tuesday to Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 9.30pm.
