Performer takes a stand
A local performance artist took to the streets of Durban to express his disdain with the legal system.
A LOCAL man took his frustration about an ongoing court case to the streets last week, when he performed on the pavement in Bulwer Road to a group of onlookers.
Performance artist, Helge Janssen said he had reached the point where he had to take his court case into the public arena.
“There is so much ongoing corruption and such impunity in the legal system. It is so brazen and it’s all a power game, it’s jaw dropping,” he said.
Helge performed a dance, followed by a talk about his case, and then presented a poem he had written about the issue.
People who had gone to see him perform, gave him some advice and leads to people who could help him with his case.
