A drug operation conducted in Mayville yesterday (September 12) resulted in the recovery of drugs, and an arrest of a suspected dealer.

The Durban Metro Police Service Drug Team, EITT and Trio Crimes, together with other law enforcement units, conducted the intelligence-driven operation targeting suspected drug dealing.

Durban Metro spokesperson Colonel Boysie Zungu alleged, “During the operation, members searched a house in Mayville, and found a Nigerian male suspect packaging drugs.

“Crystal methamphetamine, crack cocaine, heroin, and items used to package and manufacture drugs were seized,” Zungu said.

The seized drugs and items are reportedly valued at approximately R128 135.

Zungu said that the suspect was detained at Mayville SAPS and will face charges relating to the possession and dealing of drugs.
