Rotary award for Dirk’s Meat
Rotary Club of Durban recognised Dirk's Meat Market for its outstanding, dedicated and caring service to the Glenwood community.
DIRK’S Meat Market of Davenport Centre was awarded a Community Service Certificate by the Rotary Club of Durban recently.
The award was made in recognition of outstanding, dedicated and caring service given to the Glenwood community over the years.
Chris Giani and Peter Limbouris, owners of Dirk’s, both have a great passion for people in general and are truly concerned about the local community. They have enthusiastically supported various initiatives, charities and endeavours some of which include donations to Cansathon, various schools and the Hellenic Old Age Association.
Their attitude has always been one of giving back to the community wherever possible and those benefiting from their generosity include Boys Town, the sponsorship and provision of uniforms and jerseys to a needy soccer club, the presbyterian and methodist churches.
A recent Dirk’s endeavour in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Durban and others was the lunch and entertainment provided for the residents of Coronation House at Natal Settlers Memorial Homes. This took the form of a spit braai and a substantial cooked lunch. Music was provided much to the delight and enjoyment of the elderly residents.
