Traffic disrupted by protests

Motorists are warned of traffic disruptions across the city this morning.

PROTESTS, believed to be over service delivery, have been reported in and around the city this morning, forcing Metro Poice to shut down the M19 in both directions between Roger Sishi Road (Blair Atholl) in Westville and Reservoir Hills and the new Umgeni Road interchange.

Motorists are advised to bypass the area and take a route through Westville via Spaghetti Junction.  There are also disruptions to traffic on the N2 near the old airport site in both directions. Traffic bound from Amanzimtoti to Durban shoudl use the M4.

Police are also aware of unrest along Himalayas Road in Mobeni. Metro says motorists will need to bypass the area by travelling through Westville via Spaghetti Junction and the N3.
