Premier shuffles KZN cabinet

Changes to the KZN cabinet were announced this morning.

KZN’s newly appointed premier, Willies Muchunu announced his cabinet reshuffle this morning which sees four members of the cabinet being replaced by new political heads in the Departments of Economic Development, Education, Agriculture and Art and Culture.

Mxolisi Kaunda takes over as the new Transport MEC, a portfolio which was formerly held by Mchunu before his appointment last month.

Sihle Zikalala, KZN ANC chairman finds himself in the position of Economic Development MEC, formerly held by Mike Mabuyakhulu.

Bongi Sithole-Moloi replaces replacing Ntombikayise Sibhidla-Saphetha as MEC for Arts and Culture while Peggy Nkonyeni has been moved out and replaced by Mthandeni Dlungwana as the new Education MEC.

The new provincial Agriculture MEC is Themba Mthembu, who replaces Cyril Xaba.
