Fatal crash on the M4

One person was killed and four others were injured in a collision on Sandile Thusi (Argyle) Road near the M4 this afternoon.

ONE person died and four people sustained various injuries after two vehicle’s collided on the M4 near Sandile Thusi (Argyle) Road around noon today.

According to Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911, a Hyundai H1 collided with a Renault Clio.

“When paramedics arrived they found the two occupants of the Hyundai H1 had sustained moderate injuries. In the Renault Clio, the driver and the front seat passenger were both trapped and paramedics had to use the jaws of life to free them from the wreckage.”

“Unfortunately, the front seat passenger succumbed to his injuries on scene while the back seat passenger, who was was ejected from the vehicle, is in a critical condition,” she said.

Netcare911 paramedics worked alongside various emergency services on scene to stabilise the injured before transporting them to hospital.
