RIDGE Park College held their Annual awards ceremony recently where Azra Ismail received the coveted Dux award and Timika Bhairoparsad received was the runner up.
Azra Ismail said it felt really good to have received the award. “I’m excited but now a bit nervous for the last few weeks of exams,” she said. The A-student advised learners to be consistent from the beginning of the year as she believes “hard work consistently would pay off.”
Meanwhile Tamika Bhairoparsad said she happy with her award and shocked to receive the Accounting and Business award at the ceremony. “I am stressed about the finals but I have to remind myself to cross each bridge as you get there and do it one step at a time.” Her mum, Leena was elated with Tamika’s results. “She has worked hard from primary school, so we were expecting her to take a few awards. We are confident she will do well in the finals and are already so proud of her,” Leena said.

Samantha Mfeka received the Sportswoman of the Year award. The young athlete is currently part of KZN’s volleyball, softball and basketball teams and hopes to get a bursary to study Physiotherapy at Western Cape next year.
