Lions host Highland gathering

The event features performances by various pipe bands from around the country which will perform at various time during the event.

THE plaintive sounds of pipe bands will fill the air at Amanzimtoti on Saturday, 29 April att the Amanzimtoti Lions Club annual Highland Gathering at the Amanzimtoti Sports Club, intersection of corner Hutchinson and Riverside Roads, Amanzimtoti.

The event will showcase performances by various pipe bands from around the country during the course of the day, with the pipe bands finalé taking place at approximately 4.30pm.

There will be assorted craft stalls, food stalls, a display by the NSRI, a beer tent and entertainment for kids. There will be live music in the beer tent from 11am to 9pm, including Salty Dog and Friends, East Coast Basement Blues Band, Zisamo, Northern Lights, F ‘n Rits, The Campaign, Groovy Croo, Calamity Jam and Broken Advocate. Gates open at 9am. Entry is R50 for adults, R30 for school learners, R20 for pensioners and children, and free for children six and under.
