Suncoast celebrates Africa Day
“We came here today to lift the spirits of the pupils while celebrating Africa Day – where we celebrate our uniqueness, diversity, various cultures and beliefs.”
SUNCOAST staff got into the spirit of Africa Day and volunteered paid a surprise visit to the Golden Gateway School for special needs in Cato Manor.
The staff hosted an interactive drumming workshop with the pupils where Rodney Frank and Mbongeni Gcwensa from Vision in Motion taught the children how to play the drums used by various African tribes in South Africa. Learners also had their faces painted and had a chance to create their own African-inspired jewellery.
