Stargazing event postponed

The Guinness World Record attempt to gather 2000 people to view the stars tonight has been postponed as a result of the weather.

HUNDREDS of KZN people from as far afield as Port Edward, Ballito and Underberg will be disappointed to hear that the eagerly awaited Guinness World Record attempt this evening to assemble the largest number of people watching the stars together at a single venue, has had to be postponed due to inclement weather.

The cold front which was steadily approaching the city was expected to be nudged out to sea. Instead it has positioned itself over the entire province and rain is forecast all day today with strong winds expected.

“We would like our loyal public to have the most comfortable conditions for the event and have decided to postpone until further notice,” said Logan Govender, media and PR director of the Astronomical Society.
