Have your art valued

ART specialists Alastair Meredith and Wilhelm van Rensburg from Strauss & Co will be visiting KwaZulu-Natal and will provide an art valuation in Durban on Wednesday, 14 March at KZNSA (KwaZulu-Natal Society of Arts) 166 Bulwer Road, Glenwood from 9am to 4.30pm.

If you are considering selling your artwork or are interested in getting an evaluation, make an appointment and take your artwork to this team of art specialists who will provide you with estimates on your pieces.

Valuation days such as these frequently uncover rare and forgotten works by some of South Africa’s most significant artists. Important works have been sourced from KwaZulu-Natal, including Walter Battiss’s world record painting, African Figures. More recently, major works by William Kentridge (Untitled Drawing Towards Responsible Hedonism) and Penny Siopis (Allsorts) have generated huge interest at auction.

Dr Alastair Meredith will be hosting a talk at both of the events: A Century of South African Art in 10 Pictures, a sweeping account of South African art during the twentieth century, using a picture from each decade as a historical and aesthetic touchstone. This informative and entertaining presentation is one not to be missed.

The talk is at 5.30pm for 6pm at KZNSA on 14 March. Drinks and canapés will be served.
