The organisation, which raises funds to feed feral cats and cover vet’s bills and bedding at its cat sanctuary, is trying to raise funds to purchase another vehicle.
According to Steve Pitches-Levin of the Feral Cat Feeding Scheme, they have a 1988 Micro Bus which was taken off the road by the Metro Police for being unroadworthy, and is to be scrapped.

“It will cost far too much to repair and as fast as one item is fixed another breaks. The vehicle’s gearbox was removed and needs to be replaced but, due to its age, a replacement part cannot be found. The other problems include the brakes, carburettor, a petrol leak and white smoke coming from the exhaust,” said Pitches-Levin.
He said the organisation could simply not afford to purchase or finance a new or used vehicle on their own.
“We are desperately looking for donations, however small, or a loan to buy a vehicle to go to the markets in order to sell goods to raise funds both for our cat sanctuary and for their food, vet bills and so on,” he said.
