Thousands raised at CANSA event

Over R12 000 was raised in supporting the fight against cancer with Davenport Square and its Shades of Pink fun run.

GLENWOOD residents showed their support for breast cancer awareness by participating in the second annual Shades of Pink fun run/walk this month.

The 5km run/walk took place from Davenport Square Shopping Centre in Glenwood, and followed a route along Bulwer Road, through to Penzance Road, Esther Roberts Road and ended back at Davenport Square.

The objective of this fun run/walk was to promote awareness of those with breast cancer, providing support to families and communities who are affected by cancer as well as to drive the message to promote, create awareness, as well as encourage women to get checked regularly.

More than R12 000 was raised for CANSA.
