City invites non-profit organisations to apply for grant-in-aid
The eThekwini Municipality runs the Sundry Grant in Aid programme which is aimed at assisting non-profit organisations.

THE Community Participation and Action Support Unit has encouraged non-profit organisations and civil society organisations to apply for grant-in-aid for the 2021/2022 financial year. Applications for funding close on 30 June.
The Policy Senior Manager, Xoliswa Mashiane said the eThekwini Municipality runs the Sundry Grant in Aid programme aimed at assisting non-profit organisations.

“Application forms can be obtained from the Pinetown Civic Centre, all regional offices and councillors’ offices. Completed forms can be returned back to the offices mentioned. Due to the pandemic, we encourage the organisations to do the applications online at www.durban.gov.za,” she said.
Mashiane said the organisations that do qualify to apply are in the following categories; Early Childhood Development, skills development, faith organisations, youth empowerment programmes, women empowerment programmes and sport and recreation programmes.
“They have to be registered with Department of Social Development, obtain a non-profit organisation certificate, have an active bank account, organisation constitution and an audited financial statement,” she added.
