Durban Beachfront pool soon to be back to its former glory

The eThekwini Municipality has announced that the repairs of the Durban Beachfront swimming pool are well in their final stages, just in time for the festive season.

THE eThekwini Municipality has announced that the repairs of Durban’s much-loved Children’s Amusement Centre (CAC) swimming pool are now in their advanced stages. The repairs are expected to be complete before the peak holiday days of the festive season.

This means that all the pools along the beachfront will be operational. The city currently has 34 fully functional swimming pools. The CAC pool, which has been out of order since last year, is considered one of Durban’s landmarks, with so many people born in Durban or who once travelled to Durban having vivid memories of the colourful giant blue pools on the beachfront.

Its pending reopening is welcomed and celebrated by many as the eThekwini Municipality works to restore the city to its former glory, just in time for the festive season.
