First bingo of the year for Mothwa

Glenwood's Mothwa Haven hosted their first bingo game day for the year.

RESIDENTS of Mothwa Haven, an old age home in Glenwood, were all smiles as they closed off the month of love with their first bingo game day for the year.

Residents of neighbouring establishments, such as Mooi Hawens Senior Lifestyle Centre, Flame Lily Park Retirement Home, North Bay Lodge, Essenwood Retirement Home and Tabor Retirement Centre, also joined in the fun.

On February 23, smiles, laughter, gifts and numbers were the order of the day, as the residents socialised and played their favourite game of bingo, all hoping to win the biggest prize of a meal voucher for two.

Mothwa Haven, which recently made our front pages with their stories of love through the decades, has proven to be more than the host with the most guests joining the residents on their fun day.

Their first game was met with much anticipation and support as many organisations donated prizes to be won by the residents, such as R250 donated by Kent Motors, and many other residents won 1kg boxes of the much-loved Bakers Choice Assorted biscuits.

Kas Naicker, general manager at Mothwa Haven, said they were very happy to have been able to host their first game day of the year as it always brings smiles to the elderly residents as they get to socialise and feel like part of the outside community again. “Thank you to all our donors and participants for all your contributions in making the event a success,” said Naicker.
