Golfers discover body on pavement in Durban

The facts surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

THE body of an unknown elderly man was discovered by golfers on DLI Avenue on Monday afternoon.

Ensure Security spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said they responded to the call-out at around 14:00.

“We received an alert after some golfers in the area of DLI Avenue discovered what appeared to be a body on the sidewalk. Our officers were dispatched to investigate and discovered the deceased remains of a white adult male aged approximately sixty years old, wrapped in a large plastic sheet,” he said.

Van Reenen said the scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation.

“The facts surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will be investigated further,” he added.
