Swift response leads to arrest after robbery in Glenwood

The suspected robbers had nowhere to run after a swift reaction from patrolling security who nabbed them on their tracks. After witnessing robbery in action and giving chase, it was game over for the suspects.

On Monday, during a routine patrol after attending to an alarm activation on Brand Road, Glenwood, Blue Security ARO witnessed a gentleman being robbed.

“Demonstrating quick action, our ARO gave chase as the suspects fled in a navy-blue vehicle along Helen Joseph Road and proceeded to Cato Road,” said Shelli Engel of Blue Security.

She added that the pursuit continued until the suspects’ vehicle entered Essex Grove. “Backup was called, and the suspects were successfully intercepted on Mazisi Kunene Road. The vehicle and suspects, along with the victim, were taken to Umbilo SAPS, where a case was officially opened.”

“Thanks to the vigilance and swift action of our ARO, a dangerous situation was averted, and justice is in progress. Stay safe, and remember, we’re here to protect and serve our community,” said Engel.
