5 Durban children’s homes you can help for Mandela Day

On Mandela Day, people around the world are encouraged to spend at least 67 minutes doing something positive for their communities in honour of the 67 years that Nelson Mandela spent fighting for a free and democratic South Africa.

“YOUR positive contribution can protect and change a child’s future to become a better person tomorrow. There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children,” is a pertinent quote by former president Nelson Mandela about children as we commemorate his birth month.

July 18 was declared as Nelson Mandela International Day, but as South Africans we embrace the chance to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life for the whole of July. On Mandela Day, people around the world are encouraged to spend at least 67 minutes doing something positive for their communities in honour of the 67 years that Nelson Mandela spent fighting for a free and democratic South Africa.
