Glenwood’s Green Machine welcomes new rugby director
Glenwood High School has welcomed their new director of rugby, an old hand in the field of sport and academics. Justin Hollis drives a message of excellence and value-driven growth on and off the field.
GLENWOOD High School has announced the appointment of Justin Hollis as their new director of rugby.
The school said, “Hollis brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience, a deep love for the game, and a passion for developing young men of character, purpose and discipline both on and off the field.
“As director of rugby, Hollis is committed to a holistic model of development. He believes that great rugby players must first become great young men, shaped by strong character, academic discipline, resilience, humility and leadership. His programme places equal emphasis on performance, academics, player well-being and values-driven growth.”

“I am incredibly grateful for what Glenwood has done for me,” said Hollis. “It is a special place, and my vision is to build a rugby programme where players learn the value of giving back to the school, the team and each other. This is about developing young men who serve something greater than themselves,” shared Hollis.
His coaching journey began at Grey Junior School in Port Elizabeth in 2016. In 2018 he moved to Pearson High School where he coached the U16A team. He joined Glenwood High School in 2019 as an educator and coach, a move he describes as deeply formative in his growth as a teacher, mentor and leader.
