WIN TICKETS: Shall We Dance returns to razzle and dazzle fans
Shall We Dance is returning to Durban with a vibrant mix of ballroom, ballet, Bollywood, hip-hop, and Latin dance in September.
A COLOURFUL celebration of dance is heading to Durban this September with the return of Shall We Dance to The Playhouse Opera from September 11 to 13.
The spectacular showcase is the creation of dancers Caryl Cusens and Neville Letard and is presented by the SA Dance Teachers Association in association with The Playhouse Company.
Now in its fourth decade, the showcase will combine more than 10 styles of dance with vibrant choreography, vivacious costumes, pulsating music and energetic lighting.

The show will be emceed by Lisa Bobbert and will see professional dancers share the stage with Durban dance studios and students from the International School of Performing Arts.

Audiences can expect an array of dance styles, including ballroom, ballet, Bollywood, Irish, hip-hop and Latin.
“Shall We Dance is by far the city’s most endearing regular dance showcase,” said organisers. “It reminds us of the huge fun, talent, fellowship and confidence-boost that joining a dance group can offer.”

Fans can also look forward to international dance stars Egor Kondratenko and Mie Lincke Funch, who will bring their Latin American steps back to the Playhouse stage. Professional ballroom dancers Mark and Edlena Leslie-Smith will make their debut as a featured couple in this year’s extravaganza.
Tickets are available through Webtickets from R150. There will be one performance on Friday, September 11, at 19:00, while Saturday will feature two shows at 13:00 and 17:00. Sunday will also feature two performances, at 10:00 and 15:00.
