Last Sunday market adds flavour to Morningside

Last Sundays: Month End Market is Durban’s newest monthly community event, launching on August 31. Enjoy artisan foods, handmade gifts, live music, and great company in the heart of Morningside.

DURBANITES can look forward to a new monthly event that promises food, fun, and flair with the launch of the Last Sundays: Month End Market at Morningside Sports Club on Sunday, August 31.

Running from 09:00 to 15:00, the market will take place on the last Sunday of every month, offering a vibrant, family-friendly space filled with artisan food, handmade crafts, live music, and community spirit. Organised by a passionate team of local creatives and entrepreneurs, the event is set to become a staple on Durban’s calendar. With over 60 carefully curated vendors, attendees can expect gourmet snacks, freshly brewed coffee, sweet treats, unique décor, and fresh produce — all sourced from local talent.

“This is more than just a market,” said the organisers. “It’s a celebration of local talent, good food, and community spirit. We’ve designed the space so that every stall has great visibility, and we’re bringing in live music and chill zones so people can really enjoy the experience.”

Set against the relaxed backdrop of Morningside Sports Club in Hollander Crescent, the market promises a sensory experience: colourful gazebos under the sun, the aroma of sizzling street food, acoustic tunes floating through the air, and families browsing with shopping bags in hand.

Each stall is handpicked to ensure a variety of offerings, with no duplicate vendors allowed — giving shoppers the chance to discover something new every time. “We’re really focused on creating a curated, high-quality space where small businesses can thrive,” said the organisers. “Whether you’re a foodie, a creative, or just looking for a great way to spend a Sunday, there’s something here for you.”

Entry is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring friends, family — and an appetite for both good food and good vibes.
