Wacky moments at tea party
Westville Theatre Club brings a new adventure into children’s theatre by presenting A Mad Tea-Party, transcribed and written by Leisel Pienaar and Lloyd Wheatley, and based on the much-loved nonsensical tale that could only have been written by a mad mathematician (Lewis Carroll). Bring your young ones (ages four to 12) to meet all the wonderful creatures of his imagination and escape into the magical world of theatre.
Sir Alexander Sidebottom will tell the story of Alice as she adventures through a mysterious “Wonderland” and meets strange and wacky characters.
Show dates are September 28, and October 5 and 8, with two shows per day at 11:00 and 13:30.

Distinguished Gentlemen’s Drive
IndyGo Automotive is hosting the starting point of this year’s Distinguished Gentlemen’s Drive, a global motoring event held simultaneously in cities around the world. It presents a stylish, vintage-themed drive celebrating classic and collector cars. The charitable initiative aims to raise awareness and funds for men’s health, with a special focus on mental health and prostate cancer research through the Movember Foundation.
The action will take off on Sunday, September 28, at the IndyGo Automotive premises. Gathering is from 08:00 and engines switch on at 09:00.
Route: From IndyGo along the M13, through Botha’s Hill and the Valley of a Thousand Hills, finishing with a relaxed lunch at the Drummond Bell.

Durban Highway Lifestyle Market
The Durban Highway Lifestyle Market returns to Kloof Civic Hall on Saturday, September 27, from 09:00 until 14:00. There will be more than 40 curated stalls, from fashion and quirky gifts to vintage, antiques, pre-loved treasures, vinyls, books, tableware, and collectables. There is also a food court and the market is family-friendly. Fur kids are also welcome. There will be live entertainment by artist Maria (11:00) and DJ retro beats.
Celebrate 10 years of Durban’s mental health walk
It’s that time of year again when the Durban beachfront is abuzz with community activists, healthcare workers, and the general public, to walk the talk for mental health. On October 5, the KZN Mental Health Advocacy Group will celebrate 10 years of hosting the annual mental health walk and wellness fair. Over 1500 people are expected to attend.

The free event raises awareness about mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, dementia, and general stress.
The 5km walk starts at 09:00 at the North Beach Amphitheatre opposite the Elangeni Hotel. Early birds can do morning yoga, a mindfulness meditation class, and pilates from 08:00.
There is a full morning programme until 12:00, including Zumba and a kiddies corner run by occupational therapists. Walkers are encouraged to wear green in support of October being Mental Health Month.

Sing along to yesteryear’s hits
Judith Hawthorn’s new one-woman show, The Adventures of this Girl, comes to the Rhumbelow Theatre in Umbilo on September 28 at 14:00.
This is a delightful story of her journey from little schoolgirl to successful singer-actress.

DayVibes is back
DayVibes Outdoor Experience promises to be more than a party but an experience, offering colourful cocktails and soundtracks of early 2000s House, R&B, Hip-hop and local grooves.

Music up the hill
Matthew Mole is calling on families to grab a picnic blanket and come and join him at Fig Tree Farm in Hillcrest for a fun day out.

There will be fully stocked bars with all your favourite drinks, as well as tantalising food stalls. No food or drink is permitted into the venue.
The day promises to cater for the whole family with Matthew Mole and other supporting artists.
