Watch: Lynn faces accused killers of AKA and Tibz in court
Lynn Forbes comes face to face with the brothers accused of murdering her son AKA as the case returns to the Durban Magistrate’s Court.
LATE South African rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes’ mother Lynn Forbes was one of the few civilians that were present in court on Tuesday morning (November 25) for the second appearance of the men accused of killing her son and his friend, popular chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane, in February 2023.
The Ndimande siblings, Malusi and Siyabonga, looked more relaxed with their heads shaved as they entered the dock at the Durban Magistrate’s Court under heavy guard. Occasionally laughing and talking to each other throughout the brief proceedings, the Ndimande brothers seemed unfazed at seeing Lynn looking at them.
Lynn, who had earlier expressed her gratitude to the State prosecutors, said she was there for AKA and Tibz. “I’m not here for closure, this is part of my healing,” said Lynn.

“On our side there is no rush, as long as the process takes the course it needs to take. I’m here for both the boys. I’m happy with the extradition and really appreciate all the hours that you have put into this,” she told the State Prosecution team led by Advocate Lawrence Gcaba.

As the proceedings got underway the defence team was able to shed light on their consultation with the accused following their first appearance before Magistrate Irfaan Khalil following their extradition from the Kingdom of Eswatini on November 11.
Representing the accused, Advocate Cyril Mlotshwa said there was some information that the defence team needed from the State on the extradition of the accused before they “can take proper consultation”. “We are asking that the matter be postponed to January 9, 2026, so that we can send a letter to the State asking for relevant information,” said Mlotshwa.

Without objection to the postponement request, Gcaba said they will await the letter. “Once we receive the letter, we will know what they are requesting from us and will respond accordingly if we have information. We then have discussion afterwards once they receive the information. By January 9, we will be in a better position to inform the court of where we are going with this issue,” Gcaba told Khalil.
The matter was then adjourned to January 9 along with the other two separate murder cases that the Ndimande brothers are yet to face at the Durban High Court. Altogether, the charges faced by the Ndimande brothers include conspiracy to commit murder, four counts of murder, several counts of attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition, and money laundering.
