4 Good Times to light up Stella Noir opening

Stella Noir Theatre launches with a two-night Motown-to-Christmas showcase by the popular 4 Good Times band.

WITH over 160 years of experience between them, “the birth of the new Stella Noir Theatre” is in good hands, with the vocals of the 4 Good Times set to lift the curtain on the venue with a two-day event on December 20 and 21.

Clinton Philander, Percy Smith, Wilfred Aploon and John Court, who described themselves “as four guys who like to have a good time”, will perform their show 2 Nights of Song at the Stella Sport Club venue from 19:00 on both days.

“Expect Motown, Funk, Rock n Roll, and Soul with a hint of Christmas,” said Philander. “The show is an amazing way to open the theatre. It’s a stepping stone for other artists, and we are proud to lead the opening.”

The band will play tunes from the likes of James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Presley and Barry White during their two-hour sets.

“We have something for everyone. We want people to come through and enjoy themselves. It’s a positive show that offers an escape, and just before Christmas, so you know that we will have some Christmas songs on the list,” said Philander.

Their love for music and passion for the stage is how the band has grown in popularity, garnering them a massive following. With a Barnyard Theatre background and international residencies, 4 Good Times’ charisma and charm will be on show when they perform at the opening.

“During that 45 minutes set, I can guarantee you that people will lose their minds,” said a charismatic Philander. “This is the birth of the new Stella Noir Theatre. Other artists will be performing here. The reason that we chose Stella is because they are welcoming and family orientated. It’s not just a place of business, it’s a place for family.”

The shows are 45 minutes long with a 15-minute interval. A menu for food and drinks will be available on the day.
