Registrations for participation at Africa’s Travel Indaba 2026 now open

The City of eThekwini gears up to host the 2026 instalment of the world-renowned Africa Travel Indaba this May, as registration and application for delegates, buyers and exhibitors have opened.

AS announced last year, eThekwini’s ICC will again play host to the globally-acclaimed Africa Travel Indaba (ATI), bringing together international and local tourism players.

Registrations and applications for participation at ATI are officially open, inviting all global tourism stakeholders to take part in the continent’s premier travel and tourism trade show from May 11-14

Global Manager: PR, Communications, and Stakeholder Relations at South African Tourism, Thandiwe Mathibela, said, “Exhibitor registrations are now open, alongside applications for hosted buyers, non-hosted buyers, media representatives, and visitors, reaffirming Africa’s Travel Indaba’s position as a world-class business platform for African tourism.”

Africa’s Travel Indaba is widely recognised as a strategic marketplace that connects African tourism products and experiences with high-value international buyers, global media, and industry decision-makers, driving trade, partnerships, and long-term growth across the tourism value chain.

“The impact of Africa’s Travel Indaba continues to grow year on year. The 2025 edition demonstrated the event’s strong return on investment for participants. Nearly 10 000 delegates attended the show. Over 1 300 exhibitors from 27 African countries showcased their tourism offerings. More than 1 000 hosted and international buyers participated, representing key global source markets. Thousands of pre-scheduled business meetings facilitated direct engagement between buyers and exhibitors.

“These results underscore Africa’s Travel Indaba’s role as a results-driven trade platform, where participation leads to tangible business outcomes, commercial agreements, and future bookings. ATI provides structured access to global markets through its hosted buyer programme, appointment-based meeting system, and targeted networking opportunities,” Mathibela added.

She said participants benefit from the opportunity to engage with qualified international buyers, and build sustainable trade relationships and access new distribution channels.

For SMMEs and emerging tourism businesses the gathering “reduces the cost and complexity of entering international markets while offering an inclusive platform to compete alongside established brands”.
