Pipe burst forces temporary closure of uShaka’s Wet ’n Wild
Wet 'n Wild is expected to reopen after four days following its temporary closure due to a pipe burst that caused flooding.
USHAKA Marine World’s Wet ‘n Wild is expected to reopen within four days following its temporary closure on Thursday (February 26) due to a massive pipe burst.
Thandeka Magomola, uShaka Marine World PR and Events Manager, said the burst resulted in the flooding of the plant room, “affecting key operational filtration and electrical equipment” for Wet ’n Wild.
“As water quality and guest safety remain our top priority, Wet ’n Wild operations have been suspended while repairs and the necessary technical assessments are being carried out,” said Magomola.

“Our technical teams are working diligently to resolve the matter as quickly as possible. At this stage, Wet ’n Wild is expected to remain closed for approximately four days, subject to the progress of repairs.”
While Wet ’n Wild remains closed to the public all other uShaka Marine World attractions are operational. “Visitors are welcome to continue enjoying these experiences,” said Magomola.
She added that updates will be communicated should there be changes to when the attraction will be reopened. “uShaka Marine World apologises for any inconveniences caused and appreciates the patience and understanding of our visitors while we work to safely restore operations,” said Magomola.
