Community mourns fallen security officer

Siyabonga embodied the highest ideals of public service.

Patron Shield Security has announced the passing of Siyabonga Mkhize, who died yesterday (August 16) while serving and protecting the community.

“Siyabonga served with courage, dedication, and always a smile. His willingness to stand in harm’s way in the service of our community is a testament to the man he was: always professional and passionate, he was a man among men. Many who had been privileged enough to interact with Siyabonga would have found him to be a gentleman and a quiet pillar of strength within the community.

“He carried out his duties with immense dedication, courage, and distinction. Day in and day out, Siyabonga embodied the highest ideals of public service, putting the safety and security of our community above all else,” Patron Shield Security shared.

“Our deepest, most heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who knew him. We stand with you in your grief, and we pledge that the memory and service of our fallen hero, Siyabonga, will never be forgotten. We honour his service, remember his sacrifice, and remain grateful for the life he gave in the protection of others,” the private security company concluded.

Patron Shield Security thanked all first responders and security companies that assisted at the scene. The company could not reveal further details surrounding his death as the matter is still under investigation.
