Nightmare ends as Torell found safe after vanishing from Umbilo

The family of Torell Abrahams who went missing from Umbilo last week says she was not kidnapped, nor on a 'spree.'

A family member took to social media yesterday (October 15) reporting that Torell Abrahams has been found after six weeks of extensive search by different community parties.

Abrahams went missing on October 8 after leaving her place of work in Umbilo. Her last reported communication with her family was around 20:00 that night. Later reports indicated that her phone signal was located in Ndwedwe. Despite a widespread search, and a R10 000 reward, she could not be located.

Rochelle Abrahams, shared, “My niece was found safe. Thank you everyone who showed concern, and shared our social media posts. This was traumatic for our family. We are extremely happy to have our girl home.”

Abrahams dispelled viral rumours indicating that Abrahams was out partying. “Torell was not on a ‘spree’ (partying). Torell was not kidnapped,” she said.

The family requests privacy, amidst an increased social push for more details on the 30-year-old’s disappearance.
